DITTANY, THE MAGIC HERB OF CRETE

Dittany (diktamo) grows only in Crete. The locals called it also “eronda”, which means love, for its aphrodisiac properties. Popular in Minoan Crete and Ancient Greece, it is considered a highly therapeutic plant. Hippocrates recommended it for stomach and digestive system diseases, rheumatism, arthritis and used it to regulate menses, to tone and heal. It was named after the mountain Dikti (Lassithiotika) where it teems.

How to prepare it : You need 1 gr of dittany for 100 gr of water. Boil the water and add dittany. Keep it 7-10 min away from heat and strain it. You may add sugar or honey.
